The 3-year project commenced in October 2001. It is based on a recommendation to the State Administration and DANCED from the Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) Project.  It can be seen as a follow-up on Malaysia’s obligation to implement the international Agenda 21 Action Plan, which encourages the development of ICZM.
