The
ICZM Home Page is designed to provide an overview of the Integrated Coastal Zone
Managament system in Sabah.
Sabah ICZM holds information about the ICZM system in the state. It is presented in a number of different dimensions:
Coastal Districts organises information by coastal district. Apart from an outline profile, reports from surveys undertaken by the ICZM Project are available for review and downloading. Furthermore thematic maps have been published from the ICZM GIS Platform. All dialogue and input that can assist in expanding and updating the District level information base is welcomed.
Sectors organises information by the sectors presented in the Sabah and Sandakan Coastal Profiles as defined in the ICZM Data Dictionary. All dialogue and input that can assist in expanding and updating the Sector level information base is welcomed.
Issues provides information related to coastal zone management issues as identified through the activities of ICZM in Sabah. It is considered a platform for dialogue, discussion, appreciation and awareness raising related to problems and opportunities in the Coastal Zone of Sabah and all input is welcomed.
Data Dictionary is the Meta Database describing the information base required for management decisions as defined by the Sabah Coastal Zone Stakeholders.
Civil Society contains a structured overview of non gorvernmental organisations and interest groups. Although extensive the list is not complete and organisations not listed are invited to provide profiles to be added to the list.
Institutions contains a structured overview of government institutions and agencies. Although extensive the list is not complete and non-listed institutions and agencies are strongly encouraged to supply their profile in the format used.
ICZM Project in Sabah holds information about the DANCED supported project. A brief Background of the ICZM Sabah Project framework is provided describing the steps preceeding the mobilisation of the ICZM Project in Malaysia. The most significant sections of the Project Document, which forms the basis for the Agreement between the Governments of Malaysia and Denmark, can be reviewed. ICZM Project in Sabah holds information about the DANCED supported project. A brief Background of the ICZM Sabah Project framework is given and the linkages between the Sabah component and related activities are described in the presentation of DANCED and the overall ICZM project Malaysia.
